Purple Ronnie gets busy winning hearts!
14 Feb 12
London, 14 February 2012. Leading children's and family entertainment producer and rights management company Coolabi is helping people to express themselves this Valentine's Day through witty and romantic favourite, Purple Ronnie.
The iconic brand, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has teamed up with Dulux and UNICEF to create a series of exclusive poems for loved ones to accompany a very special Valentine’s Day present – their very own colour. A world first, men and women will be able to gift an actual colour for their partners to own, along with a Purple Ronnie poem, through www.ownacolour.com for a minimum donation of £1 – an initiative in aid of UNICEF, the world’s leading children’s organisation. Purple Ronnie is joined by Roger Moore, Duncan Bannatyne and The Saturdays in supporting the campaign.
Purple Ronnie, through owner Coolabi, has also commissioned a survey of 1,000 UK adults to discover the most romantic and the most humour-loving parts of the UK. The survey also set out to discover the UK’s favourite lines from literature and film. The findings are currently generating coverage across the UK press and have featured in radio editorial reaching more than 2.5 million listeners.
In other Valentine’s activities, Purple Ronnie books of romantic rhyme are being given away with a number of regional newspapers in the North of England, including the Sheffield Star and the Lancashire Evening Post, accompanied by an exclusive discount promotion for Hallmark’s Purple Ronnie print-on-demand greetings card range.
Natasha Dyson, Head of Licensing at Coolabi, says: “Purple Ronnie has become the social expression brand of choice and we are delighted that he is helping the nation in his own inimitable way to get romantic this Valentine’s Day. We look forward to announcing more anniversary activity for Purple Ronnie shortly.”
