Gore meets glamour!
17 Jul 08
The cinema is nothing if not a visual medium - and Hammer Films has provided some of the best-known images in British cinema. It’s no surprise therefore that two of the iconic brand’s newest licensed products - a Titan Books publication highlighting Hammer’s female stars and an official trading card collection from Strictly Ink – focus on the look and style that made Hammer famous.
Titan Books, a leading publisher of licensed entertainment, has already enjoyed success with The Hammer Story, a beautifully produced and illustrated authorised history of Hammer Films. Now Titan has announced Hammer Glamour, a new title that pays tribute to the gorgeous female stars of Hammer Films. Bursting at the seams with rare and previously unpublished photographs, the book pays tribute to the stunning women who gave Hammer a reputation not just for beasts but for beauties too - stars like Ingrid Pitt, Valerie Leon, Veronica Carlson and Madeline Smith.
Scheduled for publication in the autumn of 2009, the book will be sold at major high street bookstores and online retailers, including Waterstones, Borders, Amazon and Forbidden Planet.
Jennifer Eiss, the book’s editor, says: “Following the success of the Hammer Story, we were thrilled to be asked to produce a book on the stunning women who made Hammer a byword for glamour as well as gore. We are sure that not only fans of Hammer Films, but fans of the actresses and movie lovers in general will adore this beautifully produced book.”
