Purple Ronnie at Brand Licensing
01 Oct 07
Coolabi will begin to unveil its plans for ‘Purple Ronnie’ at this year’s Brand Licensing event after acquiring all rights to the multi-million pound brand earlier this year. The acquisition was seen as a declaration of intent from the newly-revitalised Coolabi which has a dynamic strategy in mind for Giles Andreae’s much-loved design property.
‘Purple Ronnie’ heads a list of exciting Coolabi brands that will be on display at Brand Licensing. Ronnie will be joined by ‘Scarlett & Crimson’ as well as a regenerated ‘iloveegg’.
‘Scarlett & Crimson’ is a pair of lovable Goth girls who dare to be different in their own unique way. The property has recently been signed for a major international publishing deal with Simon and Schuster and Danilo is producing a range of cards, calendars and diaries. These New Girls in the Black have already attracted a lot of attention from potential licensees and Coolabi expects this to continue at Brand Licensing.
Coolabi will also be exhibiting iloveegg, a web-based Flash animation property, featuring over 200 characters. The Korean-owned property changed hands in 2006 and has been revitalised with a major investment of fresh capital and ideas.
Coolabi’s Head of Licensing Janet Woodward says they are looking forward to this year’s event with real enthusiasm.
Says Woodward: “Brand Licensing has always been an important forum for Coolabi. It has grown, from its early days, into one of the most important shows in the global diary. We are all looking forward to an exciting and profitable event this year.”
